Orice persoan\u0103 \u2013 f\u0103r\u0103 niciun fel de distinc\u021bie \u2013 are dreptul la respectarea tuturor drepturilor \u0219i libert\u0103\u021bilor prev\u0103zute \u00een Declara\u021bia Universal\u0103 a Drepturilor Omului, inclusiv dreptul la nediscriminare \u0219i dreptul la libertatea de exprimare, de asociere \u0219i de \u00eentrunire pa\u0219nic\u0103.<\/p>\n

De Ziua Interna\u021bional\u0103 \u00eempotriva Homofobiei, Transfobiei \u0219i Bifobiei, care este s\u0103rb\u0103torit\u0103 ast\u0103zi, reamintim faptul c\u0103 fiecare stat are obliga\u021bia de a promova \u0219i proteja drepturile omului \u0219i libert\u0103\u021bile fundamentale. Este de datoria fiec\u0103rui stat s\u0103 protejeze de discriminare \u0219i violen\u021b\u0103 toate persoanele, indiferent de sex, orientare sexual\u0103 sau identitate \u0219i expresie de gen, precum \u0219i s\u0103 se asigure c\u0103 toate persoanele beneficiaz\u0103 de egalitate de \u0219anse \u0219i tratament egal.<\/p>\n

Deoarece comunitatea LGBTI din Republica Moldova s\u0103rb\u0103tore\u0219te aceast\u0103 zi, sus\u021binem eforturile lor pentru a ob\u021bine respectul fa\u021b\u0103 de diversitate \u2013 valoare fundamental\u0103 pentru societ\u0103\u021bile democratice deschise.<\/p>\n

Din p\u0103cate, ne afl\u0103m \u00een situa\u021bia \u00een care actuala pandemie COVID-19 \u2013 \u0219i m\u0103surile restrictive necesare pentru a-i atenua impactul asupra s\u0103n\u0103t\u0103\u021bii publice \u2013 a expus unele persoane din comunitatea LGBTI la o discriminare sporit\u0103 \u0219i chiar violen\u021b\u0103 din partea concet\u0103\u021benilor lor. Facem apel la toate statele ca \u00een aceste momente dificile s\u0103 asigure respectarea drepturilor omului pentru fiecare persoan\u0103.<\/p>\n

Joint Statement on the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia in the Republic of Moldova*<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chisinau, 17 May 2020 \u2013<\/p>\n

Everyone – without distinction of any kind – is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, including the right to be free from discrimination and the right to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly.<\/p>\n

On the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, which is celebrated today, we recall the fact that every state has an obligation to promote and protect those human rights and fundamental freedoms. It is the duty of each state to protect all persons, irrespective of sex, sexual orientation or gender identity and expression, from discrimination and violence as well as ensure that all persons enjoy equal opportunities and equal treatment.<\/p>\n

As the LGBTI community in Moldova celebrates this day, we support their endeavors to achieve respect for diversity, a value that is fundamental to open democratic societies.<\/p>\n

It is unfortunately the case that the current COVID-19 pandemic \u2013 and the restrictive measures necessary to mitigate its impact on public health \u2013 have exposed some LGBTI people to increased discrimination and even violence at the hands of their fellow citizens. We call on all states to uphold the human rights of every individual in these difficult times.<\/p>\n
